The Horn of Africa is experiencing its worst drought in more than 40 years. The East African region stretches from Eritrea in the north, through Ethiopia and Djibouti to the southern tips of Kenya and Somalia.

As a way of confronting drought and also look for long term solutions, Marafiki Relief Aid Africa was able to introduce a farming program where seedlings that would do well in the drought areas were provided to the villagers, this project is to sustain them for a longer term by providing employment and food to help them make it through drought.
Water pan construction was done to help with farming and daily use and in hopes that they can develop into a system that will enable water collection points when it rains.
